This project came to us in the middle of the long hot Summer,
location brief was extensive, Nordic forests, vast mountain landscapes,
different types of desert surfaces, rock faces for climbing, mountain huts,
lakes, rock pools, and more.
The bikes we were going to shoot were still very secret so this necessitated quiet and remote locations where we could work in safety from prying eyes. After some really extensive scouting we came up with the right locations and a shooting schedule started to take shape. The two bikes each had their own story based on two friends sharing a journey through these stunning landscapes.
Even though the locations chosen were relatively close to each other, the need to be on location to shoot sunrise and unset daily and even some night scenes meant we were travelling and shooting every day and this meant much juggling of call-times and wrap times in order not to incur massive over-time and keep the 40 strong crew fresh.
crew included a slew of professional riders, rock climbers, safety divers, bike
technicians, camera and drone crews, climbing safety specialists, stills crew,
catering, quad tech , grip, stylists & wardrobe, production crew, client,
director, vehicle transporter and more!
After over two weeks of intense shooting
days and long hours we returned to Malaga exhausted but jubilant, knowing our
director and photographers had the shots they needed.
